Lecture and Book Signing By David Hicks, author of 'Irish Country Houses, Portraits and Painters'.

On Wednesday 26th November AT 8pm at the Ashleigh Suite, Castlecourt Hotel, Westport.

David Hicks, acclaimed author of the recently published and beautifully presented  'Irish Country Houses, Portraits and Painters', ( Collins Press 2014) and 'Irish Country Houses-A Chronicle of Change' published in 2012.

These books dicuss not just the houses themselves but their occupants, their works, and the times they lived in, sharing a fascinating cultural,social, economic and political history.

Davids research is thorough and multi dimensional and these books combine information from many and varied sources in most readable  and enjoyable presentation.

David Hicks, who lives and works in Ballina Co Mayo, will discuss the Connaught Houses closer to Westport:
