Aiden Clarke took these fine photos of the midwinter sun setting into a niche near Croagh Patrick. The late Gerry Bracken first observed this phenomena some years ago, as the sun set directly in line with five standing stones at Killadangan. The time of sunset is approximately 1.50 pm.
