Could the GAA not spend some of the ("stolen") money the government gave them on painting the front of McHale park. It looks awful and its very unfair on the residents of McHale road most of whom keep their Houses and front gardens very well. It cant be doing Castlebars any favours on the Tidy Town's front either. Ironically one of the main sponsors of Castlebar Mitchell's is a PAINT SHOP. The GAA takes in a lot of money from the taxpayer and in admission charges, Television right, sales of programmes, sales of refreshments etc but Its a bit of a mystery what they do with it. Their players dont get paid (even expenses which can amount to hundreds of pounds per year) and If they get injured the compensation they get is pretty derisory so Id imagine a few cans of paint shouldnt be much of a problem for them ?
