So the great day has arrived; the day we put an end to the carnage on our roads! CTCs go into operation to-day. How wonderful! Of the many serious, or fatal, accidents on our roads does anybody know of even ONE which involved a clapped-out old banger? I would suggest that the contrary is the case and that in fact it is the "road-worthy" fast ones are involved mostly. Once more our oh-so-intelligent legislators have hot it right - haven't they? What's the real agenda - anybody care to guess? Like the TV Deflectors my guess is that it has more to do with MONEY and political patronage than the welfare of the population. As speed is the killer surely the objective should be to slow cars down - not the opposite (which this new Test will contribute to). Yes, my friends, this humbug of a Government has got things right once more!!!
