Well a good example of "travelers" been treated leniantely by the law has been given elsewhere in this thread. If you ever read the court cases in the CT/Mayo News/Western People over a few weeks and see the same people appearing before the courts again and again (with a disproportionatly large number of "Travellers" among them) and getting laughably minor sentances (which more often than not are not even fully served if at all) for quite serious crimes Im sure youl find plenty of examples. Not to mention the countless examples that I know of through friends and family where charges havent being brought as it was felt to be a waste of time. RE: Housing If I (regardless of my Income or circumstances) started to build a house on land which didnt belong to me without any consideration for public safety or the environment and without planning permission how long would far would I get ? But If someone parks a caravan in the same manner not only will the council offer them housing but BY LAW THEYRE OBLIGED TO. As for your point comparing the burden placed on Taxpayers by people living on social welfare without making any serious effort to find work or better themselves or their families compared with that placed on the Taxpayer by the corrupt and inept politicians which infest this country well you have a point but I dont think two wrongs ever made anything right !
