Féile na Tuaithe 2008

Féile na Tuaithe - Turlough Park (Sat 24 & Sun 25 May '08). Admission Free.

The West of Ireland’s favourite family festival is back: Féile na Tuaithe – Turlough Park takes place at the National Museum of Ireland  - Country Life on Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 May 2008. Now in its fourth year, this free festival has proved itself to be a favourite with all members of the family. Attractions for 2008 include children’s activities, a Sportsfest for older visitors, rare breed cows, displays by working spaniels and music. A full programme of demonstrations and workshops is scheduled and there are marquees for both craft stands and food stalls. 

Parking available in Turlough villageTraffic management plan will be in operation both days (in conjunction with Mayo Co. Council and An Gárda Síochána).

Shuttle bus to the Museum every 30 minutes (from 11.30am - 4.00pm) from Ballyvary and Castlebar (Steven Garvey Way Bus Stop - opposite old Aldi roundabout Tickets cost €2 single/€4 return from Ballyvary; €4 single/€6 return from Castlebar .  Minimum of 10 passengers per journey for these rates to apply.  Remember: when parking, never leave valuable objects visible in the car.

Sports Fest for Older People at Feile na Tuaithe - Turlough Park
A special programme of activities for older people will be held during Feile na Tuaithe - Turlough Park

The event will be broken into 4 sessions with each session lasting 45 mins. Participants will be required to pre-book for each event, at the Sports Marquee on Saturday 24 & Sunday 25 May.  Admission Free.

Times    

  • Session 1: 12.30pm – 1.15pm                                
  • Session 2: 1.30pm – 2.15pm 
  • Session 3: 3.00pm – 3.45pm
  • Session 4: 4.00pm – 4.45pm

  • Exercise to music / Dance
  • Parachute Games             
  • Rolling and Bowling
  • Pitching and Tossing
