The Hoard and the Sword: An Introductory Talk
Thu 21st July. 2.30pm-3.30pm. Talk. Adults & children 7yrs+
Dr Andy Halpin, Assistant Keeper in the Irish Antiquities Division will explore the history of the Cushalogurt silver hoard and the Coolcronaun sword, looking at how and where they were found and what these objects tell us about Mayo - and indeed Ireland - in the Viking Age. Masterclass with Dermot Bolger
Sat 23rd July. 11am-1pm. Workshop. Adults
A rare opportunity for budding writers to hone their skills. To allow time for a proper interaction with all participants. Places are limited to sixteen in this workshop where Dermot Bolger will deal with the practicalities of starting to write a piece of fiction and of slowly luring the reader into your imaginative world. Painting in Oils
Wed 27th July. 10am-3pm. Course. Adults
Join local artist Nuala Clark on an introductory course in painting with oils.
