The Museum Shop in the National Museum of Ireland, Turlough Park, Castlebar, Co. Mayo will be open from 12-5 this Sunday (7 December) for its Christmas Shopping Day.

The Museum Cafe will be serving carvery lunch on Sunday from 12pm.

At 2.30 on Sunday 7 December,
a Craft Demonstration "101 Uses of Straw!"

will be held in the exhibition galleries of the Museum. Watch Ted Kelly weaving straw to make a Wren Boy's Hat.

The Wren, the Wren, the King of All Birds, on St. Stephen's Day it was caught in the furze. Up with the kettle and down with the pan, give me a penny to bury the Wren.
