Wednesday 2 February: 2.30pm
Demonstration. Buzzers, Whistles & Tops
Down Memory Lane - Rural Childhood in the 1950s, a temporary exhibition on the theme of childhood runs December 04-April 05. Join Albert Siggins as he demonstrates how to make traditional toys.
Location: Museum Galleries Level -2

Calling all post-primary school groups!
Thursdays:  February 3rd, 10th, 24th & March 3RD 2005: 2.00-4.00pm.
Create a museum exhibition that represents YOU!
Would you like to research and put together an exhibition that tells your story?
The exhibitions at the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life represent the lives of ordinary people in the late 19th and 20th Century. Come along and have fun putting together an exhibition that represents your life as a teenager in the 21st Century! Admission is free but booking is required. Contact the Education Department for further information.

Friday 4 February: 10.00am, 11.30am & 2.00pm
Storytelling Performance. St. Brigid & other stories.
In the past people settled by the fireside singing songs and telling stories. Come along and listen to storyteller Niall de Burca!

TEMPORARY EXHIBITIONS
 Running until 24 April 2005:
Down Memory Lane: Childhood in the 1950s. 
This exhibition illustrates life for children of this period, dealing with Birth, Christening, Sleeping, Eating and Drinking, Health, Education and Religious Life. There is also a large selection of Toys and Games on display. An extensive Education programme will run over the course of the exhibition. Further details available from the Education and Outreach Department.

Mias Tighearnáin: St. Tiernan's Dish
on display at the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life
The famous medieval reliquary, the Mias Tighearnáin, St. Tiernan's Dish, has traditionally been associated with Errew near Crossmolina, Co. Mayo and has been in the care of the National Museum of Ireland since 1999.
