10th Anniversary Celebrations for GMIT

This year, 2004 marks the 10th Anniversary of the establishment of the Castlebar Campus of Galway-Mayo Institute of Technology. The campus has gone from strength to strength in that time – with registered students increasing from 110 in our first year to nearly 1,800 currently, including 850 part-time learners enrolled in the accredited Lifelong Learning programme at the college. Since opening, GMIT@Castlebar has become a vital cog in the regeneration of the entire western region and takes its responsibilities of teaching and learning, research and community development very seriously.

The anniversary website www.Castlebar10.org which was sponsored by www.XSoftware.ie contains over 600 photos from the past 10 years of the college.
