The Annual Club Gala for all our competitive swimmers was held in Castlebar Swimming Pool on 27th November and as always it turned out to be a very enjoyable and exciting event.
Our young swimmers were awarded medals as follows:
BOYS
FREESTYLE
D GROUP Oisin Ferriter was placed 1st, Daire Morrin 2nd and Michael Hall 3rd.
C GROUP Killian Dervan was placed 1st, Conor Tuohy 2nd and Patrick Sweeney 3rd.
B GROUP Mark Regan was placed 1st, Owen Thornton 2nd and Liam Martin 3rd.
BACKSTROKE
D GROUP Daire Morrin was placed 1st, Eoghan Grady 2nd and Michael Hall 3rd.
C GROUP Killian Dervan was placed 1st, Cathal Lavelle 2nd and Patrick Sweeney 3rd.
B GROUP Mark Regan was placed 1st, Liam Martin 2nd and Owen Thornton 3rd.
BREASTSTROKE
D GROUP Michael Hall was placed 1st, Daire Morrin 2nd and Oisin Ferriter 3rd.
C GROUP Killian Dervan was placed 1st, Patrick Sweeney 2nd and Luke Benson 3rd.

B GROUP Elaine Joyce was placed 1st, Ita Heneghan 2nd and Deirdre Walsh 3rd.

D GROUP Aisling Conlon was placed 1st, Eleanor Thornton 2nd and Anna Tuohy 3rd.
C GROUP Sarah Granahan was placed 1st, Julia McCormack 2nd and Megan Staunton 3rd.
B GROUP Elaine Joyce was placed 1st, Juliet Connaughton 2nd and Ita Heneghan 3rd.

D GROUP Eleanor Thornton was placed 1st, Talissa Walsh 2nd and Aisling Conlon 3rd.
C GROUP Caitriona Walsh was placed 1st, Julia McCormack 2nd and Louise Dervan 3rd.
B GROUP Elaine Joyce was placed 1st, Ita Heneghan 2nd and Laura Breslin 3rd.
BUTTERFLY
D GROUP Talissa Walsh was placed 1st, Anna Tuohy 2nd and Aisling Conlon 3rd.
C GROUP Julia McCormack was placed 1st and Louise Dervan 2nd.
C BROUP Elaine Joyce was placed 1st, Juliet Connaughton 2nd and Ita Heneghan 3rd.
We wish Elaine Joyce the very best as she retires from swimming in order to pursue other interests.

Our Junior and Senior Squads were placed on overall performance of all four strokes
as follows:
Junior Boys
1st place went to James Caulfield, 2nd to Nicholas Quinn and 3rd to Rory Grier Gavin.
Junior Girls
1st place went to Annie McCormack, 2nd to Stephanie Ford and 3rd to Sally Cunniffe.

Senior Boys
1st place went to Darragh Quinn, 2nd to Brian Moran and 3rd to Anthony English.
Senior Girls
1st place went to Laura Keaveney, 2nd to Sarah Caulfield and 3rd to Eleanor Grier Gavin.

It is lovely to see our 3rd level students, Peter Tuohy, Matthew and Joseph Moran, Colm Garrick, Jimmy Wiseman and Laura and Collette English, compete. There were some very impressive performances, with some excellent times. They were not eligible for awards but they certainly enjoyed the experience.

ANNUAL AWARDS
Our annual disco and presentation of awards was held in The Celtic Club on Friday 10th December last, this is a night out for swimmers, parents and all involved with the running of the club. A fun time was had by all.
The presentations and reasons for the awards are as follows:
Swimmers of the Year 2004.
These awards are given in recognition of overall achievements and commitment throughout the year.
Seniors: Sarah Caulfield and Darragh Quinn.
Juniors: Annie McCormack and James Sweeney.

Most Dedicated Swimmer of the Year 2004.
This award is given for continuous commitment and hard training throughout the year.
Our most dedicated swimmer is Patrick Wiseman.

Best Newcomer 2004.
This award is given to the most impressive newcomer.
Our best newcomer is Conor O’Malley.

Connacht Squad A special congratulations to Sarah Caulfield and Annie McCormack on being selected to the Connacht Squad who are due to train in Limerick 50m pool early in January also our two reserves Laura Keaveney and Colm Garrick, well done all. A big thank you to Joe, our selector, for his dedication to the swimmers.
