Week Commencing 1/4/02

Club activities resume this Thursday evening after the Easter break with a practical portrait session led by Ken Wright. Portraiture is a firm favourite with members and they are asked to bring their cameras, tripods, etc. for what promises to be a most interesting and informative evening. There may be a surprise in store on the night so be sure to attend at 8.30 pm. sharp.

With the stretch in the evenings and the extra hour since the weekend, members' thoughts will be turning towards outings and active photo sessions in the great outdoors. On Thursday evening some time will be spent considering these activities so if you have a favourite location let us know and we may include it on the outings schedule for the those lazy hazy days of Summer which lie ahead, we hope!

The final inter-club competitive event of the year, The National Photographic League Final will be held in Mountmellick, Co. Laois on the 27/28 April next. This is always a weekend of fine photography, some craic and a chance to meet photographers from all over Ireland. If there is sufficient interest among members in travelling for one of the days, a club outing to the event will be arranged and see if the Club entries in slides and black and white prints will feature in the results.
