March News 2006 from Pedro Carneiro.com: March News Just having finished a residency, which included two clinics and a solo recital only a couple of days ago, at Lugar Comum (preparing the recording of his upcoming Zig-Zag Territoires disc, in June) Carneiro is off to Paris, where he will rehearse with Chilean composer Federico Schumacher, who is currently writing a new work for marimba and electronics, for Carneiro (to be premiered in November, at the Casa da Música, in Oporto).
During March, Carneiro is also co-creating a new six channel real time electrocoustic composition, together with André Sier who will be in charge of Max/MSP programming. Pedro and André will be using "Boids" (boids for max / by eric singer, jasch, andré sier, wesley smith) to create the works spatialization. Boids is a bird flight and animal flock simulator. It is based on the same algorithm which was used in Jurassic Park for the herding dinosaurs.
