Cian McGarrigle's short film 'Slots' has been chosen to feature as
part of the PropellerTV short film showcase at the Leeds International Film Festival during November 2006.

Running on Friday November 10th, the special screening is being held to
celebrate a year of being on air for the cable channel.

The 8 minute short 'Slots' is a comedy set in a Dublin slot machine
arcade that is turned upside down by the arrival of two armed men.

Propeller's John Offord says "The aim of the event is to show the
industry an example of the kind of material being showcased on
propeller and also an opportunity for us to meet the filmmakers,
behind the films and for us to update everyone on our developments."

Propeller TV is broadcast on Sky Digital Channel 195.

Cian McGarrigle from Castlebar is a graduate of Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology where he obtained his degree in Film and Television Production and he is also a graduate of GMIT Film and Television course. Also from Castlebar, Vicky Burke of 'Fair City' fame stars in the film as Rachael and Cian's brother, Conall McGarrigle, was the lighting cameraman for the film.

'Slots' was also shown (together with a second film directed by Cian, 'Detached') at the recent Kerry Film Festival in Tralee. In addition 'Slots' was shown in early October at the Chicago International Reel Shorts Film Festival in the 'Best of Comedy Shorts' section of that festival.
