High Court orders stop to Corrib Gas Work
Mr. Justice Philip O'Sullivan of the High Court has ordered the temporary stoppage of work at the Corrib Gas Find. The application for the interim injunction was made by a resident of Rossport who claimed that Enterprise Energy Ireland, the company responsible for Corrib Gas, constructed roadways and machinery yards in two places without planning permission. Enterprise Energy claim that the construction at these sites came under "authorisation received from the Department of the Marine and Natural Resources regarding pipeline construction".

2.5 million euro grant for Knock Airport

The main use of the grant will be improvement works, upgrading of facilities and to maintain safety operations at the airport. 400,000 euro have also been allocated for marketing and security purposes at the airport.

Castlebar hotel has licence endorsed
Daly's Hotel's future is again under threat after the hotel's licence was endorsed for a second time. If the hotel receives a third endorsement on its licence it will become redundant and it will not be possible to retain a licence for the premises again. This case was before the court in February but because of the hotel's historic importance Judge Devins decided to adjourn the case until last week. The hotel had two endorsements already on its licence in February but the first of those endorsements ran out just before last week's case. Last week's result brought the amount of times the licence was endorsed to two again.
