Jet to the sun from Knock Airport in 2003
Holidaymakers will be able to jet to the sun direct from Knock Airport next year. Over 10,000 seats will be available for destinations in Malaga and Majorca starting from Easter. According to Ballyhaunis-based travel agent, Mr John Dillon, the service will commence on Good Friday April 17th 2003 with flights every Friday to Malaga and every Friday to Majorca until the end of October. They will also be putting on the Canary Islands next year for the winter. If this proves successful other areas such as Portugal and Lanzorate will be looked at. Twenty per cent of the flights sold will be for two weeks, the remainder will be of for one week. There is just a 19 Euro price difference between the prices out of Dublin and Knock.
The Knock flights will be departing on Fridays at 2 pm. The price range will be from 300 Euro up depending on the level of hotels chosen. The brochure will be available at the end of July.

Croagh Patrick pilgrimage
The national pilgrimage to Croagh Patrick takes place on Sunday, July 28th when more than 20,000 pilgrims will climb the Holy Mountain. Mass will be celebrated on the summit every half hour, beginning at 8 a.m. and finishing at 3 p.m. The 10 a.m. Mass will be celebrated in Irish. The 10.30 a.m. Mass will be celebrated by Archbishop Michael Neary of Tuam. Confessions will commence at 7.30 a.m. and conclude at 3p.m.
