Ballinrobe Chemist wins stg. £125,000 on Game Show
Last Saturday, Sean McCaughey won stg. £125,000 on the British version of "Who Wants to Be A Millionaire". Sean runs 'Ryder's Chemist' on Main Street, Balinrobe. The £125,000 question was "What is the Sequel to John Milton's 'Paradise Lost'". Sean correctly answered "Paradise Regained". Sean decided not to risk attempting the £250,000 question.

€8 million Health Spa to open at Breaffy House Hotel
The West of Ireland’s first five-star health spa is in the process of being completed at Breaffy House Hotel. The Spa will feature 2 Algotherapy Rooms, 7 Treatment Rooms, 2 Hydrotherapy Suites, a relaxation suite, Juice bar, etc. The facility will also host a 20 m indoor heated swimming pool, 3 water therapy pool beds, steam room, jacuzzi, sauna, kiddie’s pool and member's lounge.

Western Alzheimers Foundation is winner of National FÁS award
The West of Ireland Alzheimer Foundation has won the 10th FÁS National Community Initiative Awards. More than 2,000 applicants countrywide entered the competition. Founded in the mid-1990s and based in Ballindine, the foundation now employs 150 people, and is a support service for carers of people that suffer from Alzheimers.
