Council of the West backs gas field
The Council for the West has called for full support for the Corrib Gas project from everybody interested in reducing the economic disparity between regions in Ireland. Sean Hannick, Chairman of the Council for the West, said that the group is strongly supportive of Corrib Gas: ”Indeed we organised a seminar and established a representative committee to ensure a united voice in lobbying”.

Top world Photographer to capture Erris scenes
One of the world's most celebrated photographers is due in Erris shortly on an assignment, which is to appear in one of the world's leading magazines - the National Geographic Traveller magazine. Mr Chris Rainer is widely known for his photographic talent throughout the world and his work has appeared in such prestigious publications as Life, Time, The National Geographic and the New York Times.

Connaught's ideal breakfast partners
In a recent survey carried out by MRBI and Kelloggs, they asked Connaught adults who would they like as their ideal breakfast partner. 30% of men voted for Andrea Corr, 22% for Sharon Ni Bheolain and 11% for Samantha Mumba. Pierce Brosnan received 27% of the Women’s vote, An Taoiseach Bertie Ahern got a staggering 23% and the Irish goalkeeper Shay Given was third.
