Here are two photographs taken from the Westport Road looking towards Newtown with Nephin in the background and the cemetery in the right foreground. The first was taken in 1973. The second was taken in 1983. How little change there was over ten years before the link road was built.

The third photograph, also taken from the Westport Road in 1983, is looking due west over the townland of Knockacroghery towards the Newport Road. Creagh Villa (Gillespies) is in the trees on the left. It has been replaced by Lough Lannagh Village.
