The highly successful CCFE course in Performing Arts – Music is entering its third year. "Students on this course all share a passion for music in its various forms", claims Music lecturer Niamh O’Kelly. "The course is designed to nurture and deepen the student’s knowledge of the theoretical and practical aspects of music. Music is one of the fastest growing industries today, and many options are presented to candidates, from recording, media and performing to academic positions". The course is designed to suit both school leavers and mature students.

In-depth theoretical study with a strong practical element is implemented into the Performing Arts aspect of the course through ensemble, choral and hand bell activities. Attention is also paid to the development of individual talent. The various modules that make up the course span a wide range of musical interests and offer an unrivalled grounding for both the budding musician and the professional who wants to brush up on performance and theory.
