Castlebar Mitchels Hurling/Camogie Notes Hurling on the Green It was lovely to see such a large number of youngsters out enjoying themselves at Easter weeks ‘Hurling on the Green’ session. The weather overall was lovely for the week and those present seemed to enjoy themselves. Thanks to all our coaches who were involved, Steve McKeogh, Martin Greaney, Maeve Murphy, Ger Whyte, Gavin Keary and Owen Shaughnessy. Remember there are seven more weeks of it to come over the summer so have the sticks ready. U-8, U-10, & U-12 Hurling/Camogie Training Training continues every Wednesday evening from 6pm to 7pm. Remember there is still time to register even if you have missed previous sessions. U-14s versus Belmullet Castlebar Mitchels u-14 hurling team takes on Belmullet on Wednesday night next in Belmullet at 7pm. This is the first round of the championship and we wish our team and their mentors Tony Gavin, Aiden Keane & Paul O’Meara all the best in the championship. Meanwhile training continues every Tuesday and Thursday evening at 6.30pm in Davitt College Pitch. Lotto Last weeks lotto was held in Mick Byrnes with Mathew Toner spinning the wheel and winning €100. To spin next week will be Danny Moran, Knockaphunta Park, who will have the opportunity in The Cobweb Bar, when he will try for the jackpot now standing at €4100. Other €20 winners were Kevin Kelly, Shane Conway and Sharon Reilly. See you next week in The Cobweb at about 10.30 pm. Mayo Hurlers in League Final Congratulations to the Mayo Senior Hurling team on reaching the Division 3 League Final and to our representatives Ger Whyte and Owen Shaughnessy. They had a wonderful win against Monaghan on Sunday last and we wish them the best of luck against Sligo in the final on Monday next. Congratulations & Best Wishes Congratulations to St. Geralds College on their great victory in the All-Ireland Colleges final last Sunday in Cavan. It’s been a super year in sport for the school and well done to all concerned. Best of luck to Michael McNicholas and his Castlebar Celtic team as they bid for Connaught Cup glory. Hope you bring home the cup lads.
