U16 Hurling

Castlebar 1- 6 : Tooreen 3 –9

The U16s came up against a very much inform Tooreen and suffered a defeat in Breaffy last Sat.  However all is not lost and another crack beckons shortly in the final.  It was more the fear of the name of Tooreen in the fist 20 mins that put Castlebar under a lot of pressure.  However once they realised they were only another team they settled down and were clawing back the lead but time ran for them.  Now that the challenge is known, a more focused approach to the next game will make a considerable difference.

U12s v Sylvane at McHale Park on Sat 11th Oct 2003

U12s

Castlebar 4-3 Slyane (Galway) 3-2

A marvellous performance saw the U12 come away with a great over Galway stalwarts Slyane in McHale Park last Sat.  Played on a pitch were the grass did not allow for any type of ground hurling because of the length of the grass, the Castlebar lads took the game by the scruff of the neck and with some excellent stick work and running they slowly but surely ground the opposition into defeat.  Well done to all the lads and lassies too.   Castlebar  u -12 Panel : B.Lane, K.Fehilly, R.O'Dea, S.Joe, N.Quinn, J.Cotter, M.Gallagher, N.McCarney, C.Cox, A.Walsh, F.Durcan, V.O'Brien, J.Lowe, R.Byrne, A.Gavin, R.Walsh, D.Mulvihill, P.
