TEMPORARY EXHIBITION Re-trace , by Margo McNulty. 6th April 2006 - 14th May 2006 Margo McNulty's subject is history and she focuses on the lives of people in the past. The artist makes images in response to museum objects that created resonance in her personal history.
The exhibition features mixed media including etchings, etched copper and lambda prints.
EDUCATION PROGRAMME All events are free of charge. Booking required as places are limited
Wednesday 29 March: 2.30pm - 3.30pm Storytelling Performance. Threads of Tradition Let storyteller Niall de Burca entertain you with the adventures and deeds of ancient Irish hero's such as Fionn of the Fianna and Cú Chulainn. Family Location: Education Room
Sunday 2 April: 2.30pm - 3.30pm Tour. Are You an April Fool? Join Tom Doyle & Brendan McGowan from the Education & Outreach department, to guess what is fact and what is fiction on this special tour. Location: Education Room
NEW - Lunch Time Series Living Green Talk plus optional Lunch Enjoy a quick lunch either before or after the talk, in the Museum Café of the National Museum of Ireland - Country Life.
Friday 7 April: 1.00pm Beekeeping in Ireland To coincide with the temporary exhibition A hive for the honey bee' - Beekeeping in Ireland, Father Vincent Kelly, a working beekeeper, will speak on Beekeeping.

TURAS NA NBAN CONFERENCE, 21ST & 22ND APRIL 2006 Knockranny House Hotel, Westport, Co Mayo The conference is being co-hosted by Meitheal Mhaigheo Teo and The National Museum of Ireland - Country Life. The theme of the conference is Turas na mBan or Women's journey and the idea came about as a result of a folklore-collecting project in the Clew Bay area. Féile na Tuaithe '06 Saturday 20th & Sunday 21st May 2006 The second year running of this unique family event which brings together a combination of craft and artisan stalls, music, children's activities and a comprehensive programme of demonstrations. Streets of London Concert Saturday, 24th June 2006
The Museum will host an open air benefit concert featuring Sharon Shannon, Dervish, Finbarr Furey, Davy Arthur, Lúnasa, Cora and Breeda Smith.
The proceeds will go to two charities in London, which will help vulnerable Irish emigrants who have fallen on hard times in Britain.
