Junior Sailing Course

JUNIOR SAILING COURSE 2003

 
By now you will have got your letters and entry forms for this years Junior Sailing course. We have three groups this year, as follows:
 

1.    Levels 4 and 5 will take place from Monday 30th June to Friday 18th July ( 3 weeks),
 

2.    Levels 2 and 3, from Monday 21st July to Friday 8th August ( 3 weeks). There will be no course on the August bank holiday Monday 4th August.
 

3.    Level 1, from Monday 11th August to Friday 22nd August 2003 ( 2 weeks).
 

All sailors must have their own boats. Make sure you have carried out all repairs and that any missing parts are replaced please.
 

For level Ones - this is new for many of you. To get maximum benefit from the course you are advised to have your own boat or perhaps to try and borrow/hire one. We encourage Mirrors and Optimists for beginners. Some of our sailors already have Toppers.
 

Course Instructors are:

Dana Kilroy, Senior Instructor,

Maeve Ryan (plans to do level 2 coach training for our new level 5 syllabus ),

Eoin Lambe

Karl Mullee

Helpers are Justine Mc Loughlin, Robert Gaughan, and Lisa Mullee. We still have some weeks vacant for Helpers if you would like to apply. You have to be 16 years old and have level 2 powerboat  course completed. If you are interested please contact Gair Gordon on 087 - 2408779.

Supervisor  for the course has not yet been confirmed. We will keep you informed.
 

Fees for course are € 300.00 for 3 week courses, and € 200.00 for the 2 week course. Club membership is compulsory to take part in the course.
               

Family Membership  --  € 220.00

               

Junior Membership  --   € 75.00

Dinghy Racing 2003

A full program will be forwarded to all members so please read this carefully as you will see, we are starting earlier in the season this year. So come on down and get involved and don't forget to put the log book in the bag!
