Volunteers Acknowledged Castlebar Host Town committee were delighted with the large turnout at the recent Volunteer Orientation Night held in the Travellers Friend Hotel. Over 160 volunteers attended the training session, which was addressed by various members of the committee in addition to guest speakers. Carmel Dooley, Volunteer co-ordinator wishes to thank the 200 people who have volunteered their time and skills to help with the Host town Programme. She is particularly delighted with the response of the trainees in the National Training and Development Institute, Breaffy Rd, who have been of tremendous assistance to the committee in recent weeks. She wishes to thank the staff of NTDI-Gemma Borrotto, Eileen Gavin, Boyd Gale, Liam Waldron and Roddy Gallagher for their co-operation with the Host Town Programme. All volunteers are reminded to collect their official identification pass, polo shirt and revised timetable from the Bank of Ireland, Ellison St., Castlebar as soon as possible Special Thanks The Host town committee wish to thank all the people who put their names forward as volunteers, all our sponsors, the event organisers, the fundraising personnel, the medical personnel and everyone who has helped in any way to make this a unique occasion in the town. As with all voluntary committees, fundraising is always a challenge but on this occasion the goodwill towards the games has been unbelievable. We wish to take this opportunity to thank everyone who put such generous sponsorship our way and who fundraised individually and collectively. A very sincere thank you to you all!
