Opening And Dedication of New Oratory

Archbishop Neary blessing the New Oratory

A new Oratory for the use of St. Mary's Hospital was dedicated and blessed at a special ceremony by the Archbishop of Tuam, Dr. Michael Neary, on Tuesday 5 May 1998.
This oratory will be used for the celebration of daily Mass and other religious services for hospital patients and staff. St. Mary's Church, which is located in the grounds of the hospital will no longer be used for hospital purposes. The new oratory, which is located in the main hospital building, is readily accessible to the patients of the hospital, many of whom are now elderly.
