Croagh Patrick Heritage Trail Weekend 2011 - Day 2
19, Mar 2011 - 16:19

Another super day today. Would strongly recommend that you consider joining us tomorrow if you enjoy walking and can spare the time.

The day began in Aughagower where the bus was waiting to transport us to the registration point, the marquee at Corrigan's, Ballintubber. Again, great sandwiches, scones and tea were served up - you couldn't pass on the super food, even if you were just after breakfast, it's that good!! Off we went towards Killawalla. Thankfully, the sun shone and the day was great. Met Winnie from Bonniconlon and Stan from Cumbria, now settled near Ballaghaderreen and enjoyed their company for the day. More food was served at Killawalla and the rain threatened but we were very lucky as it was only a short shower. The local communities are great and their total support and welcome for the walkers adds a whole extra dimension to these walks - long may it continue.

Eventually we reached Aughagower, tired but satisfied that we had completed the second phase of our task. Hope to see you on the walk tomorrow. The start time is 8.30 for pickup from the car-park at Croagh Patrick to be transported back to Aughagower. The website for further information is http://www.croaghpatrickheritagetrail.com and follow the link for Walking Festival 2011.
