The walk up to the waterfall is dappled green.

Tucked away in the Millennium Forest of Tourmakeady is this little waterfall.

Tourmakeady Waterfall.

Pretty as a picture.

Falls and pool - with labrador!

Throw me something to fetch!

Downstream - the Glensaul River forms the waterfall.

From the top of the falls.

It's even more impressive after some good heavy rainfall.

When you finish the walk up and back from the waterfall pay a visit to Tigh Phaidi a little past Tourmakeady village. Sunday lunch or just an atmospheric pint in an old world thatched pub. You can drive further down the shores of Lough Mask to see the fossilised pine forest spread over acres of bog between the road and lake. A climb up to see the dirks - two deep, black, lakes tucked under their mountain cliffs. Then on to Lough Nafooey with its sandy beach and beautiful vista as you round that corner. All within half an hour of Castlebar.
