4 year old Irish Draught Mare.'Kilboyne Flagmount' (Big Doll) is set to ride the 'Via de la Plata' in West Spain. Big Doll, bred and reared by well known Ballyheane horseman Paddy Joyce is riding for fun and hopes to also raise money for young diabetics in Mayo. The rider, Alex Nicholson, is no stranger to the road having completed a 1400 mile ride previously. The pair left Ballyheane for Santiago de Compostela in Galicia North West Spain (the burial site of St. James) on September 2nd and will ride South via Zamora/Salamanca/Caceres/Seville/Granada and Almeria and will be returning to Ireland in early December.
The Mayo Parents Support Group for young diabetics are very active and their Chairman Joe Ryan welcomes this opportunity to raise much needed funds. Joe can be contacted on 087 2247291
