The Mayo county final of Special Olympic's: Our School's Got Talent in association with Supermacs took place in Royal Theatre Castlebar on Friday 11th Nov with 25 acts competing for a place in this year's Connaught final.
The competition provided a night of the highest quality entertainment for the packed auditorium and produced a very worthy Mayo Champion in Ethel Hoare from Davitt College Castlebar. Mount St. Michael's school, Claremorris provided the runners up with dance group "Fonn Rince" and 14-year-old Matthew Cabot from Sancta Maria, Louisburg came in third place.
The next four placed acts who also qualified for the Connaught final were "Charadilis", Ballyhaunis Community School, Ballinrobe Trad Group, Ballinrobe Community School, dancer Kieran Taylor from St. Muredach's Ballina and Killian Glynn from St. Gerald's Castlebar
All seven acts will represent Mayo in the Connaught Final of Special Olympics Our School's Got Talent in association with Supermac's which takes place in the Royal Theatre Castlebar on Friday, 2 December 2011.
