Many a fine trout was taken from the Castlebar river.Tossie Kelly fished it constantly. There was also another gentleman who loved to fish from Mulloys bridge. He was deaf and had no speech,a thin man with snow white hair.I dont think he entered Fagins gate, not sure where he hailed from.He used to use worms as bait and throw worm pieces from the bridge to tempt the fish before lowering the real bait, hook ,line and sinker. He would try his best to use sign language to explain his methods,a friendly man.Fishing was also good at "Bests Bridge" due to the good feeding from Lavelles bakery, raw dough was the best bait there as the fish aquired a fancy for it.
