Castlebar International Song Contest put the county town on the international music map. A credit to John McHale, Paddy McGuinness, Peadar Flynn and all others involved in this major event. Like the Patrician Pageant it was a novel idea which was most successful. It's time we started another project such as those in Castlebar.
