The county Registrar has officially declared that Lucky is to be the name of the new Labrador. Lucky has won by an overwhelming majority.There has been no suggestion of backhanders, brown envelopes or gerrymandering of any sort. That certain individual, currently working and living within the Pale, who was the official proposer of said name, is to be formally recognised by the dog's owner. A small reward awaits that individual, in the form of a pint of the black stuff, when next he darkens the Castlebar doors. He had better enjoy it because the owners father is not at all pleased at the arrival of this new canine imposter into our home!
