The Characteres:
Pat Jordan: Church sacristan ( could say Mass) now retired
MicheálHynes R.I.P.: character and mischief maker
Willie (Buzzer) Munelly R.I.P.: Bicycle hop owner
Michael ( Horshín) Neary R.I.P. : contractor specialising in roof repairs
total assets: an assortment of ladders, bucket,
pointing trowels and a gents Raleigh bicycle

I bumped into Hynes around tea time one evening years ago and we ended up going into Smiler Murphy`s for one. Twas a Mrs. Brennan had it at the time. You would`nt remember her. Horshín Neary was the only one there drinking a pint at the end of the bar. There was no sign of Mrs. Brennan we could hear her in at the back doing a fry for the kids. Hynes knocked on the counter with an ashtray. I`ll be out in a minute sez she. A minute later Hynes knocks on the counter again I`LL BE OUT IN A MINUTE she shouted out. She comes out anyway and serves us and who comes in but Munnelly and goes to the other end of the counter and orders a pint and a half one. So theres silence anyway for a while and Hynes nudges me and sez he to Horshín " how is business Michael" " Oh up and down, up and down" ses Horshín. " and tell me Michael " ses Hynes " do you find it easy to get paid for the jobs you do". Well at this Munnelly bangs down the glass at the end of the bar, effs Hynes and out the door he goes like a shot.
Dya see I didnt know it but sure did`nt Horshín have Munnelly in court only a few weeks before for not paying a debt for a job for him.
Hynes was great gallery.
