Posted by Joan Kennedy on December 12, 2002 at 17:18:12: Long ago, when Christianity wasn't popular, great efforts were made to abolish the sacred name of Jesus. Thus the phrase "xmas" was coined. To this very day, it is falsely believed by some that it is simply an abbreviation of Christmas. At this holy season, let us be mindful to keep Christ in Christmas by taking the time to write out "Christmas" in full! Thank you and a warm and blessed Christmas to you and your loved ones.
