We drive them to school, collect them from music lessons and football practice. We even sterilise the environment around them from an early age so that (according to some) their immune system does not develop properly - possible cause of the current asthma epidemic? Of course you can't generalise as the sight of 12 year olds wandering around the town at 2am in the morning doesn't exactly inspire confidence in parents of said 12-year-olds. Perhaps the risks they take are just different - alchohol, chatrooms on the internet, drugs....?
