As you know Johnny, you can unexpectedly bump into "auld stock" in the oddest locations - even sipping wine on a warm summer evening in a Dublin bookshop!
Myself and another auld stock found ourselves sharing a bar table with a character in a good porter house in Dublin about 78/79. I was convinced his accent was Castlebar and sure enough it was and he was the same J.J. Mullen and he regaled us with stories and it turned out to be a great night, but for the life of me I can`t recall any of the anecdotes.
At that time he was involved in an industrial roofing business with another C bar man, Eamon McTighe ( son of Andy, brother of Andrea and Fionnuala)
This same porter house was/is the nearest pub to the Burlington Hotel, in which we also enjoyed a pint ( now and again) because at that time these pints were served by a Tom Corr.
Now there are a few extra names that might jog the memory of some of the older NB contributors.
