I've read articles and books (The Great Hunger) and that sort of thing many times. It's just that as I get to actually putting my story on paper I wanted to be within reason very correct and although I knew that Ned had come over in the mid 1830's I never realized that even at that time they were so totally desolate. I thought the worst of that came with the famine....and I was wrong so the new question came up. I had never seen an actual list of homes destroyed before and that made me hope that there might be a similar list for Knockfarnaught. I really thought I had this family history tied right down and then as I started to have a tied in time period I found I need a bit more information. You live and you learn. This story has been in my head for years and years and I had no idea I'd run into this unknown. I thought I did the research..........but turns out not for 1803-11. I do see how you can think I've just started out with no background. Sorry I'm a pest!
