Having carried out a forensic examination of both photographs, I believe there is no doubt that the buildings are the same. The same elevation above street level, the architectural elevation in all it`s detail - lines, window openings, casements and particularly the ornamental detail in the triangular tympanum, the front railing and the curved struts supporting it.
Notwithstanding some minor differences which can be accounted for by the passage of time - shrubbery and trees, or the statue of the Christian brother mounted on a plinth - probably to commemorate the 150th arrival of the brother`s arrival in Fermoy in 1996 - there can be little doubt about the veracity of Mr Riordan`s statement and the case against him should be thrown out forthwith.
