Coming up Castle st. on my way home for the dinner from school in the barracks, I can remember the strong smell of bacon and cabbage wafting it`s way through the low level windows, from Brady`s basement kithcen. Bending down you could see into the kitchen - white porcelain sink and brass taps.
Kathleen and Martin Brady moved to Gallows Hill, where they ran a sweet shop for many years at the junction with Pound Rd. Kathleen was a keen card player and a regular at the marathon poker sessions around town.
