I beleive the 22 was in the hands of a Mr. McEllin ( now who could that be) and in the version I heard he shot out a bare electric light bulb in an upstairs classroom, firing from the back of his house.
On the subject of ammunition, there was another character, a couple of years ahead of Mr. McEllin, who allegedly exploded a bullet while poking it with a compass. Luckilly it was pointing towards the ceiling at the time. This guy was a member of a family, some of whom would become very prominent in later years.
By the way UTP, your reference to Lar Cleary means we must have been in the same class. Tempus and I are closing the net on you !
