John Hoban was a very good friend throughout our school days and an individual who always had and still has his heart in the right place. A talented footballer as a youngster, he is son of the late Christy and Nancy Hoban of Westport Road, who had a thriving grocery shop in Castle Street. John is a superb musician and his song about Castle Lane is a treat to enjoy.
The Hobans would I know, be known to most of the regular Nostalgia Board contributors.The family comprised Ann, Carmel, Brendan, Sheila, Maria, Bernie, John and Clare.The memory isn't too rusty yet!
