I'm not so sure if i would refer to the hops at the tennis pavilon as the good old days more like a game of cat and mouse trying to avoid the hawk like scrutiny of Herr Pater o Malley.
My first Hop was a clandestine affair orchesttrated by my nefarious cousin Danny.I snuck out of my bedroom window, pretending to my parents that i called it a night, and instead of dancing with with the sandeman,went off to frolic with Danny Daly,Peter Killeen,Danny MCelin,Peader Kilcourse, and the rest of the older lads from Bro. Naughton's class.I dont rember doing too much dancing night that being too fearfull and shy, but still proud of a successfull escapade or so i thought having made it home safe'ly to Newprt Rd, agus mo leaba. To awake the next morning to find chalked in large block letters covering the entire width and of the road between my house and cawley's the inscription "BUTCHIE DALY WAS AT THE HOP LAST NITE!!".
