George Moore is buried on the mall. His family home was Moore Hall. He was declared president of Connaught when General Humbert's forces landed in 1798. He died in Waterford awaiting trial after the defeat of the 1798 insurrection. His remains were interred on the mall in the early 1950's (?) His older brother was the parliamentary representative.
