Ellison was Lord Lucan's agent for a long time, I believe. The 'Antrims' were people from that county brought to work in the linen industry, Linen Hall. Staball Hill has as many interpretations as there are coveys in Westport. It was a legend for years that the Irish rebels in Humbert's army in '98 screamed ' stab all the English ' as they charged down the hill and thus the name. It is doubtful if these Mayomen has such a grasp of the nuances of the King's language at the time. I would assume they screamed similar war cries in Irish but obviously theae did not catch on as place names!
