I think it's a shame that Mammy Lyons found it necessary to close up shop after 54 years of extending her wonderful personality to the general public of Castlebar in her own inimitable loving way. She was the Icon of Spenser Street - once you found Mammy you found everybody and anybody that mattered - one of the highlights of my visits to Castlebar was to spend a half an hour or so gassing with Mammy - I wish her many, many years of retired bliss.
