Thats a very sad story JDP. Since you have the background documentation would you consider preparing a short piece for either the NB or perhaps the parish magazine? It is an important piece of local history that affected your family, employees in the family business and the town. I think it would be very worthwhile to tell the story, put it in context and bring the old documents to life.
