Bhopal occured in December 1984. A forty-five ton storage tank at the Union Carbide insecticide plant leaked a cloud of methyl isocyanate. It was two hours before the factory siren sounded the alarm. Result - over two thousand people dead from suffication along with countless birds, wild animals, and cattle and a great many other people left with damaged lungs.
