I always thought the Cavalry barracks was to the left of the old Garda barracks where the old land commission offices offices used to be? Am I wrong again?
The 2 lions were "recovered" and are now positioned at the entrance steps to the new garda station. The story surrounding the lions got good coverage in the local Connaught Telegraph many years ago and were nicknamed Andy and Ernie!
