Grown men cried at his funeral Mass in the Parish church. It was an amazing event - that a man like Vinnie - quiet and unassuming - could bring out such a crowd on his passing. Fr. Curran mentioned his little gifts that he used to give to anyone who did him the smallest of favours - sweets, chocolate bars, flowers, grapes, etc. Apparently at his burial in Westport virtually the whole greyhound racing community in the country turned out and a guard of honour comprising a line of greyhounds and their owners paid their respects. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
